Wood & Cedar Fences

Typically a “cedar” fence is actually a combination of western red cedar components and treated hemlock or fir components. There are very few fencing products on the market that can compete with the beauty of natural cedar fence. We are blessed here in British Columbia to have such an amazing, attractive and renewable natural resource as beautiful BC red cedar. Naturally resistant to decay, cedar is as versatile as it is beautiful.

Finyl Fencing & Railings have always prided ourselves in being willing to make any design that our customer’s desire.  Custom is what makes your yard or project unique and you should never be limited to one design because it’s easier. Take advantage of the beauty of cedar and challenge us. We are up to the task; custom jobs are our favourite; and if you can dream it, we can design and build it.

Our most popular cedar fence is what we call an overlapping board design.  We believe that providing a good quality cedar fence is of paramount importance and we recognized early on that the standard design of using nailing strips to hold fence boards was a flawed design. Not only is it inferior in strength, but every time it rains or a sprinkler hits the fence, water is trapped around the bottom of the boards, creating the perfect situation for rot. This is why we promote our design where the boards are overlapped and the rails are on edge. This design allows that water to get out and air to flow through, drying out the boards and because the boards are overlapped at the edges and “sandwiched” by two heavy rails, the customer gets a much stronger fence.

“Our retaining wall and fence repairs all were completed yesterday, and a fine job it is. Your employees are a pleasure to deal with, very courteous, and the owners all appreciated the care in avoiding damage to their gardens. Thank you very much!”
